Driving through Upstate New York
Spokane, WA
It takes a few hours to get to eastern washington. I lookforward to that moment when you cross over the mountains and see the wide open fields. In western washington, the horizon is always right there. Trees, hills, mountains. Its comforting. Like being in a little nest. Out here you can see the curve of the earth and the way the sky changes color as it gets closer to the horizon.
We arrived in spokane in the middle of a heat wave, well over 100 degrees. On days like this the Spokane Valley operates like a giant convection oven. We got a little lost on our way to the venue. After we arrived we hiked over to a grocery store to get some tour snacks.
After our show at the Empyrean Coffee House we stayed with some really nice punks over on the south end of town. The partying went late into the night. It didn’t cool down at all so the next day people were sleeping all over the porch and living room. The light was beautiful that morning, this kind of ghostly fog hung over the town.
