Maple Farm

We stop at a maple farm near the highway in vermont. They offer tours of the facility. THis really nice man showed us around. He was so freaking cute, when I asked to take this picture, he pulled out a little comb and tidied his hair up.

the maple facility is an old wood fired one. they go through about a cord of wood (’4x’4x’8!) a day when they are in production. the sap boils. A whole barrel of sap goes into just one little bottle of syrup. We get a little maple leaf shaped bottle of syrup, maple candy and maple ice cream, I still get the shakes just thinking about it.
