My first show

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA
this is a flier from the very first show I ever went to at the Old Firehouse in Redmond. I still remember people in the audience calling out for TAD to play a song and him growling into the microphone
“We don’t play some of those songs anymore, they’re not ANGRY enough!”
Modest Mouse, was pretty sloppy for most of the set, I remember thinking, what the hell is he doing with his whammy bar? Then they finished with Doing the Cockroach, which was totally amazing. The Purdins, had a lot of on stage tricks, and flash paper in the bassist’s strings that they lit during one of the songs.
Years later I’m here to play a show with the Nextdoor Neighbors. Not too many people came, I guess the firehouse has stopped having so many older bands play. also its illegal to go to shows there if you are 18 or over. I guess technically that means its not an all-ages venue. The folks there are super nice, and give us lots of bread and pasteries.
